What should I do if the blowing screw machine gets stuck?

Time:2026-06-06   Page views:469

In automated assembly production lines, blow screw machines are widely used due to their high efficiency and convenience, but the problem of "stuck nails" often leads to production line stagnation. When encountering stuck screws in the air blowing screw machine, there is no need to blindly disassemble the equipment. The following four standardized troubleshooting methods can be used to quickly locate and solve the problem:

Firstly, clean the trachea and feeding track

Foreign objects inside the trachea and track are the most common cause of nail jamming. It is recommended to remove and inspect the blowing pipe. If dust, iron filings, or oil stains are found inside, the pipe should be cleaned or replaced directly. At the same time, it is necessary to check whether there are burrs or foreign objects on the straight vibration track of the feeder to keep the channel smooth. According to statistics, about 80% of nail failures are caused by unclean feeding channels.

Step 2: Verify the screw specifications and aspect ratio

The blowing screw machine has extremely high requirements for the consistency of screw size. Before troubleshooting the equipment, it is necessary to confirm whether the screws currently in use meet the blowing conditions. Under normal circumstances, the blowing type feeding requires that the total length of the screw must be greater than 1.5 times the diameter of the nut (i.e. the aspect ratio is greater than 1.5). If the screw is too short (the length to diameter ratio is too small), it is prone to rolling or transverse nailing in the pipeline; If the screws are deformed, mixed with different models, or severely corroded, it can also cause transportation obstruction. If this specification condition is not met, the blowing feeding method may not be applicable, and it is necessary to consider replacing it with a suction nail or stepped nail feeding scheme.

Step 3: Accurately adjust the air pressure and blowing position

Air pressure is the core driving force behind the flight of screws. If the air pressure is insufficient, the screw cannot reach the head smoothly; Excessive air pressure may cause screws to bounce or accumulate in the track.

Pressure regulation: Fine tune through the throttle valve on the feeder, clockwise rotation can increase the intake and exhaust volume, ensuring strong screw blowing and stable posture.

Blow hole position: Ensure that the blow hole position is accurate. If the hole position is too high to effectively remove screws with abnormal posture; If the hole position is too low, it may accidentally remove screws in normal posture, causing a shortage of material in the track.

Step 4: Adjust the batch head gap and locking parameters

Improper mechanical structure coordination of the electric screwdriver (locking module) can also cause jamming.

Gap between batch heads: Check if the batch head is blocking the air blowing port, causing the air pressure to be unable to output smoothly. It is necessary to adjust the batch head appropriately to ensure a reasonable gap of 1-2 millimeters between the batch head and the blowing tube.

Locking parameters: If the screw gets stuck at the electric screwdriver nozzle, check the pressing speed and retraction speed. It is recommended to set the retraction speed to 120% of the pressing speed to prevent material jamming, and to reduce the pressing speed appropriately (such as to 50-100mm/s) to avoid damage to the screw head or forced insertion causing jamming.
